I was disappointed and saddened to learn of the "chicken run" held at your school. I viewed the event on video and clearly the chicken was terrified. Where is your compassion for these sentient beings? This is neither kind nor caring. How awful! You not only have failed the chicken, but also the children! Shameful!
I recently found out to protect the students that the only way that the public can access the school calendar of events is through Renweb. I can understand how this is another circle of protection against those wishing to prey on young children. Thank you St. Cecilia for being so diligent in watching over God"s little ones!!!
I have no idea who the individuals commenting so negatively are; however it's easy to see they have no knowledge of our rich Cajun culture and that the chicken run is part of the students' learning about their culture and heritage and its role in Mardi Gras. St. Cecilia School teaches love and kindness to all God's living creatures. These students are taught the value of ALL life. This school is phenomenal in both it's spiritual and educational curricula.
Call yourselves subhuman. By torturing innocent animals. You should be teaching compassion respect and love. How do we change the world. One single act of kindness at a time. Noahs ark.
The education received here more than prepared me for the remainder of my formative years as well as my professional career. I can't imagine sending my future children anywhere else.
